What do you know! I went to the store today and they have this huge scale to weigh yourself. I am not usually very excited when I see a scale. In fact, I sometimes pretend I don't see it. That's right! I pretend I'm blind to the scale and that in order for me to even attempt to see it, I'd have to use either eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, today, my little family and I went into the store and took a turn at the big scale.
After all the eating I've done, chocolate brownies, sweet potato and pumpkin pie, chicken, rice and beans, you name it...I'm still only 1 pound heavier than I was a few days ago. I already told my hubby that we're going to have to start back up again on December 1st. I hope I can. That'll be my PMS week. I can! I can! Can you?

I Wish, I Wish!
Today I happened to take out some much needed mother daughter time and had so much fun. I not only played with my baby, but we learned lots together and we read together. I read one of her favorites, "The Cat in the Hat." Don't you ever get it into your head that you could write children's books just as well as the next person. It seems so simple. I mean, for example, the idea of a book full of one picture and one word per page. Oh my goodness!!! Why didn't I think of that?
Anyway, I'd love to say that I am behaving in the food department, but I wish, I wish is not nearly enough to push myself to do so with all of the good/bad food around me. I am sticking to the principles...mostly and that's all I'll say. I wish that all I had to do was to buy memory like they have for computers, and just make more room for food without changing my look. It works for computers. Why can't it work for us regular folk? I'll get back to you on the plan very soon, but I'm going to take a break from work tomorrow, so you'll probably not see me again until Friday. Until then, Don't drink and drive and be good to everyone you know and love.

What We Did this Weekend.
I hurt my big toe on Friday and was in lots of pain, so I decided I was in no mood to do any good, healthy cooking. That's why we went to Taco Bell twice this weekend. It's probably one of the least expensive fast food joints out there. I know, I know. It's not all that good for you. In fact, it's downright bad for you considering all of the calories you get from just one burrito, but hey! My toe was feeling really really bad. It's still feeling like that.
Anyway, I was still considering what I was going to eat this week, so I prepared. Preparation is your best friend when you're trying to lose weight. We went to Costco and spent over $100 on food. Yup! I can't seem to go into Costco without spending at least $100. I have tried, but... So we got lots of fruits and some veggies too and now I'm all set for this week.
That same day, we also decided to go to the local Publix, the one near the pet supplies store and the video store. There we bought an $11 family meal which included a roasted chicken, two sides and a four pack of bread rolls. You're not really suppose to eat a starch with a protein, but as I said, my toe...
Yesterday, after services, we went to eat, that was the 2nd Taco Bell run. Then, I think because I had that foot injury, my head was aching pretty badly, so we returned home and I vegged out on the recliner and finally in my bed. I did nothing this weekend that was too progressive.
This week/weekend will be much better. You'll see.

Todays's the Day - Weight Loss Moves
Today is the day that I'm getting back on my horse and trotting off into weight loss heaven. I have been pretty down over the last ten days or so with the children ill, then me, then my husband, but it looks like we're all seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, so this is it. Guess what, I've only gained two pounds through all the crazy eating. I believe it has to do with the fact that I stuck to the all fruit in the morning thing regardless of how I ate the rest of the day. I also didn't eat too much meat although I did eat some. Well, now that I'm going back to the Fit For Life lifestyle, let's see if I can hit those 150s before the end of the year. Are you with me?

Diet Pills - Weight Loss Moves
What would a weight loss blog be without a discussion on diet pills? The least I can do is direct you to some diet pill reviews so that you'll be more informed when thinking about exposing your body to different forms of weight loss.
I've seen lots of websites that do reviews on diet pills. Don't just show up at your local Walgreens or even Costco and start buying diet pills in bulk thinking that you're willing to try anything at this point. You really should consult a doctor and even after the doctor steers you in the "right" direction, you should read up on pills you might be planning on taking. That's the best advice I can give you. You don't want to end up worse off then when you started. One website you can look at for diet pill reviews is Pricesexposed.net. Be smart!

Weight Loss - I Don't Want to Talk About it!
All I'm going to say is that I've been sick and so have the children and hubby. We'd probably be feeling better by now if we were eating more healthy, but I have no energy to plan and have sabotaged my progress this whole week. Tomorrow is Friday though...Hmmmm...I don't know. I think I'm going to start this whole healthy eating thing on Sunday. I'm just not well and as I said I just don't feel like eating lettuce. :-/

Holiday Time - Weight Loss Moves
Most people at this time of year are thinking about eating and drinking and celebrating with family and friends. It's an awesome time to remember those who love you, isn't it. I wonder why people wait to do this. Shouldn't it be an everyday thing? Well, I guess if it was everyday, it wouldn't be considered as so special. It's sort of like taking a vacation. You can't be on vacation everyday, right? The body, mind and soul demand a little work at least. We're made that way, but thinking about vacations, where would you visit at this time of year if you weren't planning on reuniting with family members? Would you visit some place exotic, a foreign country perhaps?
One of the places my father always mentions when discussing a great place to go on a vacation is Las Vegas. He says you don't need to really come with a lot of money since the environment lends itself to all types of diversions. Just looking at the las vegas hotels is entertaining, he says. I'm inclined to believe that it depends on the person though. I've always thought of Las Vegas as a big amusement park, a fair for big people if you will. I wonder what the food is like. They probably have food from all over the world, french cuisine, spanish, italian. Yummy! Just thinking about it makes me hungry all over again. Oh, that's because I haven't eaten yet. O.K. gotta run!

Getting Back on the Bandwagon - Weight Loss Moves
Well, it's been a few days since my father left town, but I'm still in this vacation eating mode. I haven't been feeling too well, so I'm sure that has something to do with it. All I want is comfort food and I'm seeing a difference in my waistline. I don't even want to get near the 170s again, but something in my brain is saying, it's o.k. You know how to lose it. Just go ahead. You can get back to where you left off pretty quickly. Oh how crazy it is to listen to your brain when you know you should do exactly the opposite, LOL! I know I'm not the only one this is happening to. How do we stop this madness? :-)

Weight Loss Moves - I Did Better Today!
I knew I was coming down with something. These past few days, my energy level has stooped to new lows and I was sure it had something to do with my inconsistent food habits of late. Well, today I started feeling really yucky and am still feeling that way. However, one good thing has come of this. I ate relatively well today considering. I also went on the scale today and found that although the numbers weren't where I'd like them to be, they didn't increase, so who wouldn't be happy about that.
Thinking about being sick, my children are also showing signs of getting colds. The sad thing is that we're in between insurance companies for them lately. I can't wait to see what the new government is going to bring for us who have continuing health issues to deal with and difficulties finding coverage for those who have preexisting conditions. I wonder if this idea of health insurance will trickle down into homeowners insurance and Washington auto insurance. I understand that there will be options to choose between employer supported insurance or government supported insurance. As I said, I can't wait.
Anyway, I hope you're not feeling as badly as I am today.

Another Crazy Eating Week
This last few days, I guess since Saturday when my father came in for a day for business, I have eaten everything I shouldn't. I've tried to stay within a set guideline, but it hasn't been easy. My uncle made lasagna; my sister had mango key lime pie; the next day she had pizza; we went out to eat at IHOP...need I go on? Anyway, then it didn't help that I had my monthly friend come for a visit too, so willpower was out the window! Anyway, it's all good. I feel like I need a car cover for clothes, but I'm not without hope. This evening I had my typical salad, so we'll see what tomorrow brings.
My plan will be to eat mostly fruits all morning (that's the easiest part of the diet). Then for lunch, I will have a tomato and avocado sandwich. For dinner, I'm not sure yet. I'll probably try to make shrimp soup and another salad. So how have you been?

The Scale is Moving Down Again :-)
WOW! I've just been watching tv and I'm sure you can see who the next president of the US is. All I am going to say is WOW! Anyway, I wonder what that is going to mean for future health insurance. I wonder if it's going to determine the cost of other insurances like no exam life insurance or even travel insurance. I guess those are optional.
Well, my happiest thought for the day is that the number on my scale is now moving back in the right direction. As I said a few days ago, being on vacation, I gained some of the weight I lost, but today I'm here to tell you that I'm down most of what I gained and am looking forward to approaching the 150s really soon. I'll let you know how it goes.

We Had Visitors.
We've been home from vacation for about a week now and I think I'm just about over the sleep issues I was having all week. It's hard to fit so much into four days and then when you return to your normal life, to live as if you haven't broken from your routine. In just four days, I started eating crazy foods and bad habits are so easy to pick up, right. My craving for meat sky rocketed although I hadn't been eating very much from that food group in a few months at least. Now I have to get back to the way I was eating before my vacation, because this is the best thing for me and my family.
Anyway, to change the subject, my little family has a little fenced in patio and every now and then, the neighborhood cats come calling. They never stay longer than it takes to satisfy their curiosity that nothing is available for them in my little square. However, yesterday, we had the cutest little kittens come by and I was honestly considering keeping them. They were black with touches of white on their noses and paws. Awwwww! I even told my husband that they are better at catching spiders and mice than those spider glue traps and mice traps.
Unfortunately, he didn't agree that we could have them in the house, so that's that. :-(

Weight Loss - the Last Few Days.
O.K., so I've been PMSing again. For the last two days, although I haven't been eating terribly, I haven't been honoring the Fit For Life way of eating and it shows! I feel more slumped (could be related to PMS) and I'm looking a little ragged around the edges if I do say so myself.
Well, it's Sunday and a new month to boot, so back to the drawing board, eh. I'm going to set a new goal. As of December 31st, I'd like to be in the 150s. That's two months to lose 7-10 pounds (depending on the day). I think I can do it. Have you met a short term goal recently? What about a long term goal? Weight Loss doesn't have to be an uphill battle. Remember that. You have plenty of experience under your belt on how to lose weight in a healthy manner. Use it and succeed!
