Walking to lose weight is hard! However, I'm Doing It! I am trying to add some variety to my walks so that I don't get bored with the same walking path, so today, since I had to go to Walmart for some office supplies, I decided to walk it. I'd say it takes about 10-15 minutes to get there and 10-15 minutes to get back, so that's my 30 minute walk. I'm so proud of myself. Are you doing it?
I recommend signing up for the About.com walking guide. It's been useful and informative to me. I think this is the link: http://walking.about.com/. Just go there and get all you need to know about walking and fitness and even a few hints on dieting. I signed up and get the information right into my mailbox for free. So don't hesitate! Walking to Lose Weight - Day Nine

I Would Love Some Chocolate!
I would love to eat a bag of chocolate right now. However, instead, I sit here with my 32 oz cup of water thinking about eating chocolate. I'm not deprived. I'm healthy and I'm smart. I ate well today, maybe a larger portion of meat for dinner than I should have had, but for the most part healthy. I also had some more of that Indulgent Trail Mix again as a snack in the middle of the day. I probably ate more than I should have of that, but looking on the bright side, the bag is almost empty, so I won't be buying that again.
It's true what they say about what kind of foods you buy and store at home. If you only have healthy food, then that's what you'll end up eating. Tomorrow's another day and I'm very tired. I'm proud of myself for going walking today and will make myself go walking again tomorrow. I would love for walking to become a morning routine, or at least a daily routine.
Walking to Lose Weight - Day Eight
Yesterday, I was achy all over, so I didn't do much walking to lose weight. I ate relatively well, attempting to watch portion sizes. However, I notice that the later in the evening it gets, the more I start jonesing for something to snack on. I went for that Walmart indulgence nut mix, which has chocolate bits in it and ate more than I probably should have, but as I said, for the most part, I think I ate relatively well.
Today, I admonished myself that I would push myself a little more today since I felt better and my aches were pretty much gone. After doing my daily morning routine of dropping everyone off to their respective destinations, my daughter and I went to a park and walked our butts off. Well, actually she sat in a stroller while I did all the walking.
The track at this park is a little shorter than the track at the park I usually go to, so I decided to walk around the track seven times instead of four to sort of equalize the walking distance. I believe I have accomplished my goal of walking to lose weight today. I'll be trying to focus on some other means of snacking so that I don't mess up on the eating part of this diet.
I have decided not to post my weight at this juncture since it hasn't really moved down. In fact, because of my pigging out this past weekend, I've actually gained a pound or two, so I'm going to work on that and then post when there's something to celebrate in that regard. It's hard to believe I've been doing this for more than a week now. The days to fly. Tomorrow will be day nine of walking to lose weight. I better stick to it.

Walking to Lose Weight - Day Seven
Well, this should be day five of walking to lose weight since I bummed out on the weekend. I believe I have gained a few pounds. I didn't really over over eat, but I did have that sick stuffed like feeling after eating with my family on Saturday. I know I ate too much. It's hard to see my uncle's BBQ ribs and teriyaki chicken and just pass it up even though I know I should.
Well, I'm not going to beat myself up about throwing down the drain four full days of great eating and exercising last week just to eat like an oink oink on the weekend. I'll just have to tell myself to do better this weekend and to push myself to walk a little more during the week, so onto Day Seven of walking to lose weight.

Walking to Lose Weight - Day Four
I am proud to report that I went walking to lose weight by going around the track four times yesterday and even tried to jog a little, but that was too hard. I'm so out of shape that I couldn't jog for more than a few seconds at a time. My muscles felt all fatigued and jelly like and my breathing was labored to say the least. I didn't go walking this morning, but I will be going after I finish this post. I had a few responsibilities to take care of.
So facts:
Weight - 184 pounds.
I guess I went up a pound after eating all that yogurt and snacking on some Walmart indulgence nuts/chocolate mix. I have to stay away from that stuff. 1/3 cup is 9 grams of fat. It might be all good fat, but still. Today I'm going to struggle with the eating since I have to go to a get together at my sister's house. My uncle will be barbecuing as usual and the food he makes is too good to resist. I'll try my best though. My goal is two pounds a week. That's 30 lbs in 15 weeks. This is week one, so I'm right on target. O.K. see you later. I'm going to go walking to lose weight.

Walking to Lose Weight - Day 3
It is 7:06 am and I am officially on day 3 of my walking to lose weight diet. I ate fairly normally yesterday and I could count on my hands no less than five times going to the refrigerator for no other reason than to busy my mind with food. I am proud to report that I did not grab anything but water, but it was very hard!
I will be walking again this morning, so we'll see if I can stick to my diet to day. I hear that something you wish to do will not become a habit unless you do it for at least 21 days straight. That means that I have 18 more days, technically 17 more days to create this habit. Walking to lose weight is a good habit, is it not?
Facts:
Weight on Home Scale: 183 (Yesterday I weighed 185 on home scale)
Is it possible that I have lost two pounds since yesterday already? I can tell you that I have been drinking lots of water. On to day three of walking to lose weight!

Day Two - Walking to Lose Weight
This is officially day two of an uphill battle I am waging against myself to go walking to lose weight. Since becoming the mother of two and moving 1,000 plus miles away from my children's birth place, I have put on about 30-40 pounds. This obviously didn't happen overnight. I have been living in South Florida for almost three years and have gained enough weight that I don't want to even write home about it anymore.
Now that there is a basis for losing weight, that is my goal. It's a goal I know that I share with many bloggers, bloggers the world over, I'm sure. I have decided on a deadline for losing, at least, 30 pounds - September 1st. That is a long way off. On the Biggest Loser, it seems like they have to lose an enormous amount of weight in a much shorter time, so I'm thinking that my goal is definitely reachable, with a few cheat days in between.
Look at that, I'm already planning on cheating. Well, I guess that's not really true. You have to live in order for losing weight to work. I think I've just been doing too much living. Anyway, there you have it. I walked today twice around this track at a park that is five minutes away driving distance. Yesterday I only went around the track once, so I improved today. Maybe tomorrow I'll walk three times around the track.
So, here are the facts:
Starting Weight: 189 (This is what I weighed the day before I started.)
Day One Weight: 188.5
Day Two Weight: 187
Let's see what tomorrow brings. Of course, I know it's not all about walking, but watching what I eat. I'm not really going on a special diet or anything, or maybe I will. We'll see. So, are you with me? You want to go walking to lose weight?
