Weight Is Nothing But a Number!

Weight is nothing but a number, I'd like to believe, but health and happiness depend on your weight or, at least, how you feel about your weight. The laws of nature determine that when we eat right and weigh a healthy weight, within our body range, we'll feel better about ourselves and will respond more healthily to those around us. I'm not a weight loss expert, but I can tell you what my own experience with weight loss is teaching me.

When I was in my 20s, I was quite active. I could run and dance for hours and wouldn't get winded, not even one bit. Motherhood has brought with it changes to my body and my mind. Many of my motherhood experiences, most actually, are quite positive and beautiful to say the least. On the other hand, I don't feel as motivated to run and jump. I'm always tired and not so even tempered.

Since I started on this weight loss plan, I have noticed some positive changes in my body and my spirit. I am encouraged and uplifted when I see my efforts bringing results. This helps me when I interact with my children. I'm more patient, more alive and more ready for the challenges that motherhood brings. I feel confident and more energetic. All of this makes me a happier person all over.

It's not just an image thing for me. I love that I am looking healthier, but I love even more how much better I feel inside, about myself and my life. I am determined to lose at least 15 more pounds and even more after that. For this month of March, I'll be satisfied with 5-10 pounds of weight loss. I also want to develop an exercise routine to become more active. We'll see how it goes! What are your month of March plans?

I've been sick and out of the exercise loop for at a least month now, but I plan on getting back to doing my in-home workouts which consists of walking at home using 2-3 pound weights. Although I haven't been exercising, I did walk home from the pharmacy (took an hour) last week. When the weather becomes nicer I'm planning on implementing a jogging program along with my regular walking.
